Wow. It has been a long while since I have really worked on this website. BUT. I have not stopped the baking and cooking, I can promise you that. Along with orders I have been receiving of the usual cake flavors I'm accustomed to, I have also tried a new type: Carrot Cake! Just in time for this not-so-cold fall season. I was a bit worried at first since it would have been my first time and it was for a good friend's mom. But as I was baking, carving, layering, frosting, and decorating the cake, I gained more confidence and it came out AMAZING! I mean, look at the picture on the right-hand side and just gawk at its beauty. I would like to give credit to my favorite YouTube channel, SORTEDfood, for the cake decorating tips in a recent video featuring Edd Kimber.
In other news, in one of the classes I am taking this semester, I am learning about different things you can do on Microsoft Excel. I decided to use what I'm learning and apply it to my little side business I've got going on here. Now, I'm a lot more organized with cataloging orders that you lovely people send me and there is a smaller margin of error in calculating the final price. This benefits both you and me and I've been having a lot of fun exploring and messing around in the program :) I really can't wait to receive more orders from people and add it to my new order log thingy.
So keep the orders coming and I'll keep the oven baking! I am always happy and excited when I bake for other people, even on the day of my birthday I was fulfilling an order. I know, it's weird and you're probably wondering, "Why would you bake a cake for someone on YOUR birthday?!" Well, I've always enjoyed being in the kitchen and it was a new recipe I was trying out so I was really excited about it. Don't judge ;)
Lots of love,
Renee
