I know it has been a while since I've posted any type of update. I promise that I have been baking loads of other stuff, I just haven't been posting about it. So I decided to make an update post! Yaaaaaaay!
First of all, I've made an instagram account solely for this business. The username is the same as tag that I've been using on my personal account so give @ReneesCookingLab a follow! I'll be posting some new pictures and some old pictures every once and a while to show everyone what I can do. I'll try not to keep the gap between posts too long, but I'm also making sure that what I post is relevant to what's going on in the world.
Second, I've added a couple other flavors to my recipe book! They haven't been added as an option for orders yet but here's a little peak at what they are. The one on the left is a cinnamon cake topped with a vanilla buttercream and a sprinkle of more cinnamon sugar and a mini churro. The one on the right is no ordinary chocolate cupcake, but a Mexican hot chocolate cake. You'll be able to taste a little kick of cayenne pepper that complements the sweetness of the chocolate. This one is topped with a chocolate buttercream and a sprinkle of grated chocolate and a pinch of cayenne pepper.

Let's see, what else has happened in the past year or so? Valentines Day! For this year's day of love, I had the honor of providing some sweets for my cousin's pop-up photoshoot that she and her husband had for their photography company, Studio Luniste. They take some amazing photos with a natural and comfortable feel. You don't have to worry about how you'll pose by yourself or with a group, they'll keep taking photos as the shoot goes along and professionally edit them for you to keep. Since it was a Valentine's Day photoshoot, I provided some heart shaped sweets. The first one was a simple sugar cookie with a red and white marbled icing effect. Making this was a first and definitely wont be the last. The second dessert was a little red velvet heart cake. They were intended to be cake pops, but the baking gods were not on my side. Thankfully, I was able to save them by adding little white splashes on them and they were a big hit!
That concludes all the big projects I've worked on as of lately. There's been others, but these specific things really show what I'm about. Sure, I love to bake, but what I really enjoy is being able to put your imagination onto something tangible and delicious. I provide the recipes and all the work, you provide me with the picture in your head.
Thanks for keeping up with my and especially thank you for all of your patience. I'll try to be more active on here and post more, but in case life catches up to me, you'll be able to keep up via my Instagram. Be safe out there and happy baking!
